With continued reports of child-abuse cases in Jamaica, singjay Aldeno, alongside Joey Brooks, has opted to bring awareness to the problem.

The video for the single Runaway shows examples of child abuse, neglect and human trafficking.

The storylines used in the video were all based on actual events.

Aldeno, formally called Singy Singy, is adamant that the song will bring further awareness to these social issues, and he hopes to create change.

"There are still persons out there who see abuse happening and fail to report it because of the 'bun informa' culture that some Jamaicans have. I want people to acknowledge child abuse, neglect and human trafficking as growing problems in Jamaica and figure out ways to combat them," said Aldeno.

The artiste chose to work alongside Brooks on the project to help compose a catchy and effective chorus. Brooks, who is the sister of international dancehall artiste Mavado, also feels strongly about the messages in the song.

"Joey has a powerful voice, so working with her was a no-brainer. It's important that a powerful voice delivers a powerful message," added Aldeno.

The song, on the 'World Love' rhythm, released in late 2018, has been receiving support locally and internationally.

Aldeno, who is currently working with the Jam Rock Record Label, based in Canada, is now working on his seven-track EP and is partnering with World Cry Foundations from Canada to give back to the community in Trench Town.
