St Andrew man facing murder charge
Detectives attached to the St Andrew South Criminal Investigations Branch have arrested and charged a man with murder stemming from an incident last December.
Hr is 32-year-old Kemo Green, of Swain Spring Road in St Andrew. He was charged with the murder of 31-year-old Jerome Gordon, of Amsterdam Road, also in the parish.
Green has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, wounding with intent, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following an incident on Amsterdam Road on December 21.
Reports from the police are that about 4:45 p.m., it is alleged that Green along with four other men went to the home of the deceased and opened gunfire, hitting him multiple times to the upper body. A woman was also injured. Gordon died on the spot, while the woman was taken to hospital where she was treated and admitted in serious condition. Green was later arrested and charged after he was pointed out in an ID parade. His court date is being finalised.
Meanwhile, a St Ann man is facing gun charges. The St Ann police arrested and charged 56-year-old Leroy Martin, otherwise called 'Briggy', of Carlton Mountain, Claremount with illegal possession of firearm and assault at common law allegedly committed on March 2.
Reports are that about 11:20 a.m., the complainant was in his community when he heard explosions sounding like gunshots. The complainant went to investigate and saw the accused, whom he knows, coming from the direction of the explosion. The accused then approached the complainant and pulled a firearm from his waistband and threatened him. Martin was later arrested and charged. His court date is also being finalised.
