Sunday’s Reggae 6 a playground for form bettors
AL Brown has trained I REALISE all his life and knows how to present the middle-distance specialist as a winner off the break, making the six-year-old a worthy banker, dropping from $1m to $700,000 claiming in Sunday's Reggae 6 opener at seven and a half furlongs.
I REALISE finished a half-length third behind NATURAL DANCER and AWESOME ANTHONY at six and a half furlongs when last out on October 20, losing in a battle after gnawing at the lead inside the final furlong.
Having only slow-starting THE REAL IDENTITY to fear, getting 10lb from the closer should allow I REALISE to steal a march on his slower and heavier rival, who was beaten by BELLA BELLA in 1:23.1 at six and a half on last, more than a second slower than the 1:22.0 clocked by NATURAL DANCER a month earlier.
Sunday's Reggae 6 appears set to be a form players' playground. ROCK-OLA, YOU'RE MY SWEETIE, WICKED CASSIE and UNDISCLOSDLOCATION are pepperlight bankers worthy of an accumulator or parlay.
However, take zero chances with the Reggae 6 closer, horses out to turn six years but yet to win three races, prime stock for the wolves lurking in claiming races next season. Go five-deep with STEIN SHINE FOR ME, STORM BOY, MISS LYNTON and BLINDING LIGHT.
